2. Other things being equal, preference shall be given to graduates in Economics, Education, Sociology, Statistics, Psychology and to those with Post Graduate Diploma in Social Science and experience in industrial or personnel management or labour welfare.
6 Assistant Commissioner of Labour 1946 1. Candidates must possess a degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
2. Other things being equal, preference shall be given to freedom fighters and members of their families.
Explanation:
(1) The expression “freedom fighters” shall mean persons who took part in any of the National Movements inaugurated by National Congress or under its sanction for attainment of independence of India and as a consequence have undergone imprisonment.
(2) The expression “Family” shall mean the father, mother, son, daughter, grandson or unmarried granddaughter of a freedom fighter.

TNPSC Group 1 2025 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern for both Prelims and Mains exams is discussed below. The exam shall be conducted in both English and Tamil Language.

TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam Pattern

1. The Prelims Exam is qualifying in nature (Its marks will not be added to the final merit list).

2. The questions shall be objective type and there is no negative marking.

3. Qualifying Marks: SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs: 90 Marks and Others: 120 Marks.

TNPSC Group 1 Mains Exam Pattern

The Mains exam is descriptive type and it consists of 4 papers. Those who pass the Prelims exam will appear for the Mains Exam. The Main Examination answer sheets of Paper II, Paper III, and Paper IV will be evaluated only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks in Paper I.
